Diana Chechushkova was born on February 16, 1983 in Chelyabinsk, where she currently lives and works. She has been painting since 2021. At the beginning of her career, Diana Chechushkova was drawn into icon painting, underwent appropriate training, but eventually she chose impressionistic portrait painting as the main theme of her work, finding inspiration in the beauty and diversity of human faces. Diana Chechushkova's works are kept in private collections in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Chelyabinsk, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Murmansk and other Russian cities.
In 2024, Diana Chechushkova opened her own workshop, "Superior Color". Also, she organizes exhibitions and various events for her team. Diana Chechushkova is a member of the Verb Art Creative Union.
I paint in various genres, but prefer portraiture, following my own style and a certain color scheme. The basis of my work is realism with elements of impressionism. By capturing the moments of my characters' lives, I engage the viewer in an open dialogue about human emotions and relationships. Society requires us to follow a number of rules, and we often have to hide our true feelings. I invite the viewer to understand what the characters of my paintings are going through through the prism of their experience and worldviews. People often find a response of their own emotions in the faces from the portraits, and the look from the outside helps them understand what is happening and outlast difficult moments. I combine the traditional multi-layered technique of oil painting with my author's technique of "sculptural painting surgery", when paints are applied and mixed directly on the canvas. Details are scraped with the help of a stationery knife blade and the desired textures are created. By varying the density of the strokes from dense to light film, it is possible to create canvases with a flair of some understatement, but quite realistic volume and imagery.
